Charism of Our Lady of the Springs

The charism of our Dominican congregation is

ever ancient….as we embody the spirit of Dominic

ever new… as we adapt to the 21st century.
 

The charism of Dominic is as relevant for us today as it was in the 13th century. We commit ourselves to follow the teaching of Jesus and to profess the truths of the Catholic Church. 

 Contemplata aliis tradere, one motto of the Order, succinctly states our
mission: to share with others the fruits of our contemplation with others.  True to our American origins, we continue to preach the truth through the education apostolate.
 
At the First General Chapter of Our Lady of the Springs, held in August, 2009, all twenty-two professed sisters approved the Constitutions for the new Congregation. Bishop William E. Lori gave his formal approval on the feast of the Annunciation, March 25, 2010. Our vows of poverty, chastity and obedience are made according to these Constitutions and the Rule of St. Augustine, the rule chosen by Dominic.
