By praising God and contemplating His Word, we Springs Dominicans prepare for our mission to preach and teach the Truth for the glory of God, the salvation of ourselves and of others in this 21st century. We live together in communities sharing a common life, liturgical prayer, and personal study which nourish us for our apostolic service.

Truth

Dominicans are committed to Truth -- Veritas. Our explicit ministry of education is directed to the Truth of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We serve in academic  settings at the elementary, secondary, college and university levels. The 22 founding sisters have tallied more than 1200 years of teaching in these levels of education.

  To contemplate and to give to others the fruits of our contemplation 

Our brother, St. Thomas Aquinas, wrote that when “the work of the active life such as teaching and preaching proceed from the fullness of contemplation... this work is more excellent than simple contemplation.  For even as it is better to enlighten than merely to shine, so too is it better to pass onto others what one is contemplating than to merely contemplate.”  Summa Theologica II-II q.188, a6
